Michelle has 19 years experience in the mosaic industry which includes teaching mosaics and selling mosaic supplies.
Her passion for the art of mosaics has seen Michelle conducting classes for the Hunter Community College for nine years and also hosting regular workshops to provide people from all levels with the opportunity to master their own artworks.
Michelle has also held mosaic workshops for adults and children at The Australian Museum, The Newcastle Maritime Museum and the Powerhouse Museum.
Michelle has extensive experience with the design and development of commissioned mosaic art including the production of a number of larger projects. One such project was the Kurri Kurri Towns With Heart Project at 2.5m2. Another was a 12 metre long mosaic at Hunter Sports High and a 1.5 metre sphere mosaic at Hunter School of the Performing Arts.
She understands the need to ensure the products have longevity and are of the highest standards and as such always use products suitable for both indoor and outdoor application.
These products include glass, marble, ceramic and smalti, sourcing and using only the best, with the glass being high quality Italian products. The utmost pride is taken in the creation of each piece and this is also reflected through her choice of products.
Michelle understands the right projects can create a new cultural atmosphere for an area and through the placement of a series of projects, can also offer a whole new identity.
