The opening of the ‘JP Frost Studio’ is the result of a lifelong dream I had to help others find the artist within.
The studio is a new venture and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. At the studio I run adult art classes and workshops. Participants learn and practice a variety of art skills, methods and mediums. In addition to artmaking, the experience is enhanced meeting people and enjoying homemade morning tea in the garden courtyard.
My name is Jayne Pinkerton-Frost I have practiced art from an early age, I then went on to complete a ‘Bachelor of Visual Arts’ and a ‘Graduate Diploma in Art Education’ at Newcastle University. I have been an Art teacher for 28 years. I have had four solo exhibitions and have exhibited in several regional galleries such as Lake Macquarie Art Gallery, Watt Space and Maitland Art Gallery.
Colour is a dominant feature of my work and I like to play with transparency and perspective whilst combining linear features to carry the eye.
The opening of the ‘JP Frost Studio’ is a very exciting for me, it has a fantastic workspace for groups and has a small exhibition space with a selection of Artworks are for sale. When visiting the studio you will see a variety of student artwork as well as my own artwork on display.
The ‘JP Frost Studio’ experience has not disappointed, it has been wonderful to see how much the students enjoy themselves whilst creating artworks to be proud of and meeting others from the art community.
Visitors are welcome to say hello when visiting our beautiful village of Wangi Wangi.
