Helene Ruma is a Lake Macquarie artist specialising in paintings and drawings of animals.
Since 2009 she has worked full-time as an artist completing a variety of projects such as 3 murals in NSW and Victoria, Illustrated 2 children books with another in progress and has taught art to school children both locally and in rural NSW and Victoria.
Helene has won several art prizes, including the Casterton Kelpie acquisitive art competition
in 2013 which she then judged in 2016.
Now Helene teaches children and adults and continues to experiment with her art at her new gallery and art supplies shop in Wangi Wangi. As well as promoting her own works she promotes those of the children she teaches which also can be seen on display there.
Focusing on animals in materials including, but not limited to, pencils, acrylic, watercolour, charcoal.
